摘要

Mohs micrographic surgery is generally regarded as a clean rather than a sterile procedure because of the multiple steps involved that compromise strict sterility and the delay between excision and repair. It stands to reason that the use of sterile gloves rather than clean nonsterile gloves would not affect the infection rate, but there is no accepted standard of care regarding the use of sterile gloves for tumor excision or reconstruction. Some surgeons excise the tumor using clean technique and then perform the reconstruction using sterile technique.
