摘要

Acoustic emission sensor is suitable for tool condition monitoring application since it does not affect the machining conditions, the stiffness of the system, etc. One of the characteristics of an acoustic emission sensor is that it provides a large quantity of data which is difficult to interpret. Advanced methodologies are now available such as wavelet analysis performed on fast computers. In this research, 45 different wavelets have been investigated to build a tool wear classification system. The most suitable wavelet transform for tool condition monitoring in milling is proposed.
