Move to silica sand makes the difference

Malcolm and Stephen Leeming, of Wycongill Farm, Bolton-by-Bowland, near Clitheroe, installed a shallow sand-bed system in their new cubicle shed built three years ago.Not only have they been able to reduce the amount of sand needed on the beds, but by opting for silica sand rather than conventional 'red' building sand the farm's slurry system is far better able to cope.
