My first daunting steps in farm animal practice

In this, the first in our new vet series, we follow graduate Emily Gascoigne as she starts her career as a farm animal vet in Dorset. The decision to become a farm vet was not a difficult one. Although small animal and equine experience had been painless while at veterinary school in Cambridge, farm animal medicine had always been at the forefront of my ambitions. I have been very fortunate to start my working life with Synergy Farm Health in Dorset, which is one of the largest farm practices in thecountry. Joining such a practice as a new graduate can be more than a little daunting, especially being a long way away from my Lancashire homeland.
