A Scottish Agricultural College's twin parlour set-up allowed students to compare conventional and robotic milking systems, with some surprising results. arony College, which occupies 270ha in Dumfriesshire, southwest Scotland, has invested in a new dairy technology centre equipped with two different milking parlours. The 1.3m capital investment was partly funded by the European Regional Development Fund from the South of Scotland European Partnership. With two parlours -robotic and herringbone - itmakes it the most technologically advanced dairy unit in any UK agricultural college.
