Meadow Foods has done it again, just as it did last summer, by being one of the first to take the lead on prices by confirming it is to hold its milk prices for April 1. However this time it's had no help from booming commodity markets but through what the company calls "tough negotiation". The 'price hold' maintains our standard litre price for its Cumbrian (ex-Akkerman) supplies at 26.77ppl (claiming an actual average milk price of 27.5ppl due mainly to the larger average producer) with Cheshire supplies currently on 26ppl for Mar'08. Meadow's move is important as its 'price hold' confirmation will surely help underpin other price negotiations.
