Winter grass can be curse

We have just experienced one on the mildest winters on record with ambient temperatures around 2°C higher than historic average. Combined with the high rainfall, the result has been that good grass growing conditions have persisted throughout the winter in many parts of the country, particularly on lighter, warmer soils. In addition on many farms there was a considerable amount of late autumn growth which was not removed before the winter owing to the wet weather, so there is a fair quantity of grass on grazing and silage fields already, and we have yet to reach the'T sum' target.
