Favoured for its high yields of high energy feed, forage maize now covers around 100,000ha annually. A great deal has been written on its inclusion in diets, however, little is documented about the origin and the ability to trace varieties to their source. Noting the concern from its customers for more information on the source of seed, one company has added traceability to its 1998 stock.
