One year on from vesting day, the National Dairy Council (NDC) is coming to terms with its much reduced funding and new role within the industry. How well do you remember the phrases 'Drinka pinta milk a day', 'Milk's Gotta Lotta Bottle' and 'Wake upto milk', with the dancing milk bottles? And who remembers that TV ad in which Bob Geldof, after an early morning jog, nicks a bottle of milk from a float and downs it in one? These are just a part of a few memorable advertising campaigns, devised by a promotional body which was set up about 15 years before farmers had their own organisation to market then milk to dairy companies.
