Bristol brothers break 2,000 pound barrier

Achieving an MOC of more than 2,000 pound is not just for farmers using TMR, as two dairying brothers in the South-west have just found out. Robert and Philip Jones have farmed at Manor Farm, near Bristol, for more than twenty years, steadily improving production and quality levels to this November's impressive 2,025 pound margin over total concentrates. Their average yield is 9,902 litres at 3.96% fat and 3,31% protein (BOCM PAULS costings). While the brothers attribute their success to a number offactors, their open minded and flexible approach is perhaps the single most important reason. When necessary, they make changes, without losing sight of the long term objective of increasing quality and production levels.
