As more milk producers turn to DIY rationing for their high-yielding dairy herds, they are having to rely increasingly on feeding advice from third-parties -many with a vested interest. In the old days rationing was simple, just a question of choosingthe best compound cake to balance the quality of the forage. Nowadays, it's a bit more difficult. Unless you are up-to-date with current rationing principles, how can you judge which advice is the best, and which one is just a route to feeding more expensive ingredients?
