Sperm sexing agent that is claimed to lift fertility

A new sperm sexing agent which can be mixed with semen at the time of insemination is said to increase the proportionof female calves born to 65-95%. Developed by Emlab Genetics in Illinois, USA, HeiferPlus is marketed in the UK by GB Bulls, who will also be selling their own stud's semen in straws which are ready-mixed with this agent. Described as an enzyme which attaches to the female sperm's X chromosome, HeiferPlus is said to make the X-bearing female sperm stronger and more active, and more likely to fertilise the egg.
