We are a well inspected farm. It all started when, astonishingly, we had a Single Farm Payment inspection five months before we received our first Single Payment. I wrote about my experiences in the press, thinking it would deter future inspections, but the opposite seems to be true. That year we were inspected by Countryside Stewardship, dairy inspector. Farm Assurance, Wessex Water (an expensive one), with another visit from the Single Farm Payment inspector as the EU told Defra they should have inspected sprays as well as everything else.
