A new heat detection aid which logs head movements and mounting activity is proving a big hit on a Somerset farm. Geoff Fagotto paid them a visit to see how the system is improving their figures. Farm manager Michael Jones of Wyndhurst Farm in North Somerset has tried virtually all the heat detection aids available. So naturally he greeted claims from the latest electronic-based system to be installed at his unit with a degree of scepticism. But as one of the first farms in the country to use the system, he is already hailing it as a great innovation after just six months of use.
