摘要

Northamptonshire-based Linlake Holsteins took last year's Dairy Event black and white championship and the exhibitor-bred title with Linlake Academy Bubble. Linlake Holsteins, run by partners Richard Linnell and Jim Bryant, has spent the past 20 yearsgrading up from a herd of commercial Friesians bred to bull of the day This 130-cow herd from South West Farm, Canons Ashby near Daventry, now averages a rolling annual milk sold of 8,146kg at 3.89% fat and 3.42% protein. After a period Richard now calls mon-grelising - using sires of mixed Holstein and Friesian origin - breeding has been purely Holstein for 12 years, with the emphasis being placed firmly on milk yield.
