The chief executive of the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers, Philip Gilbert, looks at current industry issues. The RABDF Farming Conference, held each year at Malvern at the beginning of March, continues to grow in stature and has now becomethe focal point for key players in the dairy farming industry. This year 55% of the delegates were practical farmers and, in turn, they represented more than 22,000 dairy cows. That is one powerful lobby by anyone's standards. Talking of conferences, the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth is holding its biennial conference and tour in the UK in June, and the RABDF is pleased to be acting as the host society for this occasion.
