A few days ago a weather forecast gave details of how temperatures were two degrees higher than average this winter and that rainfall was also significantly higher. The problem with issuing general figures is that they mask local trends and they alsogive a distorted view of how extreme conditions can be. The camellia in our garden that usually flowers by early February was in bloom weeks before and the T-sum was probably reached here by the end of January, but my gut feeling was that it was still abit soon to contemplate applying fertiliser at that time.
