Dairy Farmer columnist Martin Ginever offers some practical advice for anyone considering a move across the English Channel. It may appear a relatively easy thing to do, but the buying process, as Martin himself discovered, can prove expensive and full of pitfalls. I was a bit perturbed to see my name used in an advert in December's Dairy Farmer. In fact I was bloody angry and immediately rang the number and asked the advertiser what right he had to use my name without consent. After I had cooled down a bit he told me that my 'four years of hell' was putting doubt in the minds of prospective clients and he was only trying to show that we were a rare case and that he installed people properly with no problems. Whether that is right or wrong I don't know, but what I do know is that I have a list of all British farmer installations in France up to December 1992.
