Non-Destructive Testing Certification System in Mexico--Part 1. General view(Part 1 of a 2-part series)

This review was conducted in order to establish a certification system to meet the needs of the Mexican community, research and evaluation of the market needs, and the potential for this sector of the economy to sustain such a system. The first sources of reliable information were the statistical reports published every three months by the Federal Work and Social Prevention Office (STPS, by its Spanish name). The non-destructive testing workforce comprises inspectors who work in general industry, chemical and petrochemical plants, and hydrocarbons distribution and transport pipes.
