Chesapeake Energy Raises Production Forecast

Houston (Reuters) - Chesapeake Energy Corporation raised its natural gas production forecast for 2009 and 2010 on Tuesday and said it plans to spend more on drilling.The company said it expected production to rise five per cent to six per cent in 2009, compared with its prior forecast for an increase of four per cent to five per cent.For 2010, Chesapeake expects production to increase by eight per cent to 10%, compared with its August forecast of seven per cent to eight per cent, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
