Pembina's Earnings Down, But Revenue and Cash Flow Improve

Pembina Pipeline Income Fund third quarter net earnings dropped to $44.7 million from $48.1 million during the same period last year, but the oil and gas pipeline operator said that excluding a one-time after tax gain last year, its net earnings for the period improved about 36%. For the first nine months of 2009, Pembina's net earnings were $109.2 million, compared to $122.8 million last year. Excluding the after tax gain on sale of linefill of $15.2 million included in the third quarter of 2008 and $30 million included in the first nine months of 2008, net earnings have increased about 36% and 18%, respectively, during the quarter and nine months ended Sept 30 2009.
