Focus Energy Acquisition Boosts Enerplus 2008 Results

Enerplus Resources Fund reported increased earnings, cash flow and production in 2008 reflecting the $1.17 billion acquisition of Focus Energy Trust coupled with higher commodity prices earlier in the year.Net income for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 2008 more than doubled to $888.89 million ($5.53 per trust unit) from $339.69 million, or $2.66 per unit in 2007 (see table).
