September was only the second month to see an increase in natural gas prices this year but the third quarter average for Alberta spot prices was still the lowest in a decade.Although it was a lousy quarter for Canada's gas producers, heavy oil producers fared much better with yet another increase in prices that has made 2009 the second best year this decade for these lower quality crudes.
