Pembina Pipeline River Leak Traced To External Stress On Exposed Segment

The Energy Resources Conservation Board (ERCB) is reminding pipeline operators to diligently conduct surveillance and inspections of pipeline water crossings in accordance with legislated requirements. The reminder in its newly released Bulletin 2009-12 comes after the board identified a problem during its investigation into a June 2008 crude oil leak from a pipeline under the Red Deer River.
