Sometimes we don't take the time to fully explain why we do things the way we do," says Dave Fisher, of Madrid, N.Y. To help new employees - especially new employees without a farm background - understand why their jobs impact the dairy's overall success, Fisher sends several of his employees to training programs. And, Fisher has found that these employees return to his 750-cow dairy with a whole new outlook about their job.
