In reply to clinical practice guidelines for treatment of exercise-associated hyponatremia

The Letter to the Editor of Dr Lipman demonstrates an unfortunate persistent confusion about potential dangers from exercise-related dehydration and the appropriate management of exercise-associated hyponatremia (EAH). We welcome the opportunity to respond to this letter with hopes that readers will be enlightened to nearly 40 years of evidence and that we can provide further support for our position in the WMS Practice Guideline on Treatment of Exercise-Associated Hyponatremia.
