Major opportunities for Canadian suppliers in the global mining boom

There are at least 100 countries in the world that have mining industries that can benefit Canadians as investors or suppliers. Indeed, Canadian junior explorers and major producers have thousands of projects or operating mines in more than 100 countries. One major alone, Barrick Gold, has over 100 projects and mines in 19 countries. Our home market is, of course, benefiting from new activity brought about by the relatively high prices for mined commodities. This is particularly true in exploration for which the barometer, diamond drill availability, has shrunk to nearly nil. But now, with so much opportunity around the globe, is the time for Canadian suppliers to diversify their markets! Diversification, gaining new clients, is the best way to protect against the low market conditions that history demonstrates await us in the future. The mining cycle has a period of about 10 years.Typically we suffer for the first few years of a decade, then put butter on our bread in the later years of the decade. This has been so since the 1950s at least.
