CIM Los Andes activities 2004 - wrap up!

With a successful year of presentations in 2004, given by mining professionals from major mining companies worldwide, the CIM Los Andes Branch in Santiago, Chile, would like to acknowledge the participation of many companies and individuals who shared their knowledge and expertise with our members. Presentation topics for 2004 included the following: "Mantoverde SHE & Dynamic Leach Pile," presented by Carlos Flores, Anglo American Chile; "Paste Tailings Surface Disposal," by David Landriault, Golder Paste Technology; "Anglo American S.A," by David Sykes, Anglo Chile; "Mine Closure in Chile: Experience at El Indio," by Chris Beggs, consultant; "Capital Projects - Reducing Risk and Increasing Profits," by Dwayne Fentie, Hatch Chile; "Commercialization of the CESL Process: CVRD Copper Plant Project Update," by Greg McCurm, CESL; "Advances at Veladero," by Bob Laidlaw, Barrick Chile; "Candelaria Underground - A Project in Progress," by Joe Hatrick, Phelps Dodge Aurex, Tierra Amarilla, Chile At Expomin 2004 last April, the largest mining show in South America, the Branch also had an additional six presentations given by: URS Corporation, Pan American Silver, Aur Resources, PricewaterhouseCoopers, EDC, BHP Bil-liton Brazil, and Lumina Copper.
