Conditions of ecodevelopment of agriculture in the Nasielsk commune

The commune of Nasielsk is a typical rural area where there are no industrial plants emitting or producing substances that could contaminate the soil The greater part of the commune's soil shows medium acid reaction. Arable land constitutes 73.10% of the commune's total area, and it is composed largely of brown leached soil (60.3%), of pseudopodzol (27.8%) black-earth (10.9%), and hog soil (1%). The number of private farms now registered in th Nasielsk commune is 2,310, of which 609 are small 2-5 hectare farms. The second largest group of farms (402) are 10-15 hectare farms which should become the basis for development of organic or integrated agriculture on the territory of the commune.
