Proper Installation of Steering Anchor for Atlas Copco ST-8B Scooptram

Atlas Copco Construction & Mining N.A. distributed a service bulletin in early November to educate their clients about the proper method for installing the steering anchors properly on the ST-8B scoop-tram. There are hundreds of ST-8Bs in use in North America, and they're very popular worldwide.Like most underground vehicles, the ST-8B uses articulated steering. This involves a centre hinge point and one or two cylinders to help the unit steer. The rod end of each cylinder is inserted into the steering anchor. With a 75 000 lb machine, the steering anchor must be able to withstand a lot of strain. Improper installation could result in large problems.
