Ukraine.s Donprombiznes (part of Coal Energy) has applied to participate in a tender for a right to operate Sverdlovantratsitand Rovenkiantratsit mines through concession.On August 11, the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine announced auctions for a right to manage the stateownedcompanies. property under a concession agreement for 49 years. Applications can be submitted till October 10and will be considered within 45 days after the deadline passes. Bidding participants shall provide documentationproving output of at least 2 mtpy in 2006-2010. Besides, the share of any state or state-owned company shall notexceed 25% of the authorized capital of the contenders. A concessionaire will be obliged to make an investment and toraise coal production.
