FORTHE LASTYEAR OR SO WE'VE BEEN WRITING A COLUMN LOOKING ATTHINGS that frequently go wrong in large IT shops, asking why and commenting "duh." We usually try to be more subtle than that (our editor reminds us that it's best not to offend our audience), but we think it's equally true that it's better not to offend their intelligence. So, in the spirit of the holidays, which it is when we write this column if not when you read it, we'd like to offer you a baker's dozen of "duhs" for the new millennium:
