The article describes the use and importance of a graphical 3D-software for measurement jobs in mechanical engineering. The software package "Spatial Analyzen is introduced, its properties will be described and evaluated. A brief example will demonstrate the procedure of the inspect mode, which means the comparison of the material object with the 3-D CAD data.
