Now the more current term is e-commerce, or electronic commerce. But, "... no sooner is the letter 'e' fixed ... as the key to e-commerce, e-mail, e-whatever then along comes ... another letter to thrust it aside ... m-commerce" (William Safire, "On Language," New York Times Magazine, March 19, 2000) for mobile commerce.
