Liquidus surface projection of the Fe-Co-C ternary system in the iron-rich corner

摘要

In the present work, the liquidus projection of the Fe-Co-C ternary system is plotted in the iron-rich corner using differential thermal analysis, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction. This projection contains three primary crystallisation phases (5(Fe), y(Fe) and graphite) as well as two univariant lines: peritectic L + δ(Fe)←→ γ(Fe) and eutectic L ←→ Γ(Fe) + C{sub}(graphite).
