The rebuilding of the West German machine tool industry in the initial post-war years. The machine tool manufacturing industry in Germany faced a new beginning in the initial post-war years. Apart from the reparations, extensive productionrestrictions and bans hindered the technological and economical development of this branch. The currency reform in June 1948 was the first source of stimulation for Germany's business cycle as a whole. The dismantlement reduction which commenced in 1949brought with it the start of the rebuilding of the West German machine tool industry.
