Integrating a Mechatronics-oriented Development Process into a Development Department

The development process of a mechatronical product is characterized by a much higher number of influences, a higher complexity and more date in comparison to a classical, domain-separated development activity. Methods for the mechatronical development have already been generated. But they can only work successfully when this process is sufficiently integrated in the development department in consideration of enterprise-specific conditions. The adaptation requires a suitable organisation, data management, knowledge management, hard- and software etc., which are connected to the process. This paper presents a procedure for structuring and focusing the development department on the integration of the mechatronical development process.
