A survey of Mysida from the Lizard Island area, Great Barrier Reef, Australia, Subfamily Siriellinae (Crustacea, Mysida, Mysidae)

Ten species of Siriellinae mysids including Siriella lacertilis sp. nov., and one Rhopalophthalminae from the Lizard Island area of the Great Barrier Reef, Australia. Six broad geographic areas are recognised in Australian coastal waters. These comprise the north-eastern area, south-eastern area, southern area, south-western area, north-western area and the northern area. The Great Barrier Reef is the major component of the north-eastern area and of the 103 mysid species known from Australia, 74 occur in the north-east. This is more than twice the number known from any of the other geographic areas.
