On the reaction of triphenylphosphane with thionyl chloride [Zur reaktion von triphenylphosphan mit thionylchlorid]

Triphenylphosphine reacts with thionyl chloride to give [Ph _3PCl]Cl, Ph _3PO and Ph _3PS the formation of the anions S(O)Cl and SCl being discussed; the crystal structure of [Ph _3PCl]Cl·S(O)Cl _2 is reported.
