摘要

In this paper, the transient response of a finite cylindrical tube filled with porous media to a non-thermal equilibrium forced convective flow of an incompressible fluid through it is investigated. The analysis of the thermal charging of the packed bed is carried out. A two energy equation model is employed to simulate the temperature difference between the fluid and solid phases. Using the perturbation technique, an analytical solution for the problem is obtained. It is shown that the temperature difference between the fluid and solid phases forms waves localized in space and propagating from the fluid inlet boundary in the direction of the flow. The amplitude of the waves decreases while the waves propagate downstream. [References: 17]
