IDENTIFICATION AND REDUCTION METHODS OF THE INDEX OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING MODELS - IMPLEMENTATION ASPECTS USING ALGEBRAIC COMPUTATION

The previous characterization of systems of Differential-Algebraic Equations (DAEs) with regard to their resolubility, index and consistency of initialisation and also the application of techniques of reduction of the index are tasks required to correct use of computational codes when solving them numerically. The adaptability of these tasks to implementation using the computer algebra system MAPLE V.3 is analysed and the main features of the INDEX's procedure are described. [References: 6]
