Traditionally, the Indian pump manufacturers have been concentrating mainly on agricultural and domestic pumps. However, more recently, areas such as industrial application, natural gas, sugar mills and refineries that are major consumers of pumps are now coming up as potential markets. The Indian industry should now focus on innovation. It is time the Indian industry adopt new techniques in the production process.
