摘要

Hydrocarbon processing facilities use considerable amount of steam and power.Feedwater heaters are used to preheat water supplied to steam boilers in a conventional power plant.As a critical part of the steam/power-generation function,the optimum design of feedwater heater is crucial for continuously producing quality steam and reliable power.The surface area for feedwater heaters,as supplied by the vendor,is based on the required steam,condensate and feedwater inlet/outlet conditions as specified by the buyer.These terminal point conditions provide the necessary design constraints to calculate the heater surface area.Even with these constraints,it has been observed that vendor bids can vary significantly in quoting the surface area of various zones within the heater.
