Leveraging simulation to design,operate and maintain plants

A process plant goes through several distinct life cycle phases that include designing,building,commissioning,operating and maintaining the asset(Fig.1).Each of these activities contributes to plant performance and its profitability.The way they contribute to performance can be succinctly described in terms of creating and revising plant capabilities to produce the right products at the desired quality and quantity,utilizing plant capabilities to generate revenues and maintaining availability of plant capabilities to support current and future use.For convenience,ARC refers to these three plant performance factors as design,operate and maintain(DOM).
