BASF increased its polytetrahydrofuran capacity at its Ulsan, Korea, facility from 30,000 metric tpy to 40,000 metric tpy. The increase was achieved through debottlenecking the plant. The plant began production in 1998 and underwent an expansion in 2000 that increased caapcity from 20,000 metric tpy to 30,000 metric tpy. BASF also manufactures 50, 000 metric tpy total capacity of 1,4-butanediol (BDO) and tetrahydrofuran (THF) at this site.
