US greenhouse gas emissions grew much sloer than the economy in 2002.Greenhouse gas emissions increased by 0.5% in 2002,from 3,829 million metric tons carbon dioxide equivalent (MMtCO_2e) in 2001 to 6,862 MMtCO_2e in 2002,according to "Emissions of Greenhouse Gases in the United States 2002",a recent report from the Energy Information Administration (www.eia.doe.gov).
