When talking quality in reference to aqueous ammonia usage in selective catalytic reduction(SCR) systems,the image of catalyst damage is typically dredged up.However,many other concerns are associated with using poor quality ammonia.The greatest threat is mineral deposit buildup on handling and vaporization equipment.Mineral deposit buildup can cause a NO_X non-compliance issue long before catalyst damage occurs by reducing the ammonia availability to the SCR system.
