Reduce stress in piping layouts

Piping needs to be designed to operate at high temperatures and pressures with sufficient flexibility so that the system stress is within acceptable limits.Piping is connected to strain-sensitive equipment like pumps,compressors,columns,turbines,etc.If high-temperature piping is not routed with enough flexibility and proper support,it can impose unacceptable loads to the connecting equipment nozzle and may cause problems to sensitive equipment.Although the stress engineer will review the piping flexibility and supports,the piping layout engineer needs to know about the stress concepts that form the guiding principles in piping.
