The BP Kwinana Clean Diesel project was born out of a legislative requirement to produce diesel with a maximum sulfur content of 50 ppm at the point of sale beginning Jan.1,2006.Installing a modern hydrotreater facility follows BP Kwi-nana's previous investment to produce low-sulfur diesel in 2000.The scope of mechanical work consists of designing and constructing a reactor,product fractionation system,amine absorber and hydrogen recycle system,along with the tie-ins to the utilities in existence at the refinery to support the unit.
