Centrifugal compressor reduces lifecycle costs

Ingersoll Rand debuted its TURBO-AIR NX 8000 integrally geared centrifugal compressor (FIG. 1) at the Turbomachin-ery & Pump Symposia show in Houston, Texas in September. The TURBO-AIR NX 8000 compressor can be configured for many different applications, and the up dated design brings the key system components closer to the edge of the package for easier access. The control, lubrication and cooling systems on the compressor optimize flow and operational efficiency, resulting in low total lifecycle costs. The TURBO-AIR NX 8000 is rated for powers from 750 kW-1,700 kW (1,000 hp-2,250 hp) with flows from 142 m~3/min-283 m~3/min (5,000 cfm-10,000 cfm) and pressures from 3.5 barg-14.5 barg (50 psig-210 psig).
